History of Mapperley Stud
Mapperley Stud is a third generation farm.
John and Doreen Davison moved here in 1964 and John became a pioneer in importing early English thoroughbred families. Those families quickly continued to produce great horses of their time such as Waverley Star and more recently So Casual.
At Johns passing the farm continued its success, led by John’s son, Mark Harry Davison.
In the early 90′s Mapperley stood the now well-known Volksraad, which was the beginning of a long and successful relationship with Windsor Park Stud.
Today, Simms Davison, grandson of John and son of Mark, has taken the reigns to continue the Mapperley legacy.
He is looking forward to developing and promoting Mapperley as a leading boutique agistment stud in New Zealand.
