Following the tough decision to retire star mare Bohemian Lily over the weekend, owner/breeder Kevin Hickman of Valachi Downs has decided that the smart mare will pay Australian Middle Distance Horse of the Year CONTRIBUTER a visit this spring.
A dual Stakes winner in impressive company, Bohemian Lily won at Listed level before taking out the GR 2 Rose Stakes under the guidance of champion trainer Gai Waterhouse in Australia.
“Bohemian Lily is a wonderful addition to Contributer’s first book of mares which already includes a number of Stakes winning and Stakes producing mares” said Mapperley Stud master Simms Davison.
Out of blue hen Bohemian Blues, Bohemian Lily is a full sister to Australian 3-year-old filly of the year Shamrocker who won a staggering A$1,975,888, in stakes with major wins cumulated in the GR 1 Australian Derby and GR 1 VRC Australian Guineas. Bohemian Lily is also a half-sister to GR 1 Auckland Cup and GR 3 ARC Sunline Vase winner Rock Diva.
