THERE'S SOMETHING IN THE WATER...

Set to face off in tomorrows Gr.2 Coupland Mile at Riccarton, well backed contenders Nomisma and Thee Auld Floozie share more than just their favorable chance of winning. Both 5-year-old mares were born and raised at Mapperley Stud and both sport the same famous “M brand” found on the shoulders of the great So You Think, Dundeel and many more…

Trained by the very on form Pike Racing, Nomisma is a mare who has benefited from plenty of patience. From a very lightly raced career Nomisma has already clocked up 4 wins and recently stepped up in Group company, claiming an impressive 4th in the Gr.3 Rotorua RC Arawa Stakes. Out of Mapperley owned mare Dosh, Nomisma is a full sister to dual Group winner Sacred Park and is owned by Simms & Margaux Davison and Meagan Schick.

Bred and raced by John and Sue Young, Thee Auld Floozie was born at Mapperley and spent her first two years on the farm before heading into training. A winner of nearly $200,000 in Stakes, Thee Auld Floozie is a Gr.3 winner (ARC Sunline Vase, Gr.3) and has been placed at Group level on a number of occasions. Thee Auld Floozie is out of Mapperley resident mare Thee Auld Hussie who was a talented filly herself, winning on 5 occasions including twice at Stakes level.
