STAR THOROUGHBREDS & CHRIS WALLER TEAM UP TO SCORE IMPRESSIVE DEBUT WIN WITH CHATELARD

Carrying 59kg and paying $21, Chatelard (Rip Van Winkle - Lutry) stormed home impressively to beat a tough field of 14 in the Horsley Maiden Plate over 1400m at Kembla Grange Racecourse on Saturday.

The Mapperley Stud born and raised gelding is from resident mare Lutry and was consigned at the 2015 New Zealand Bloodstock LTD Select Yearling Sale on behalf of owners Peter & Patricia Payne. The striking chestnut was snapped up by Denise Martin of Star Thoroughbreds for a befitting price tag of $90,000 and was shipped off to join the stable of leading Australian trainer Chris Waller.
