HIGH CHAPARRAL SIRES ANOTHER GR.1 OAKS WINNER

High Chaparral continues to sire top 3yo’s year after year, with his latest Gr.1 winner Princess Jenni proving too classy for her opposition in the $500,000 South Australian Schweppes Oaks (2000m).

Princess Jenni went into the race as a winner of 3 of her 5 career starts and was heavily favoured in the Gr.1 feature at Morphettville. Her position in the market-place was justified when she found her split between runners and dashed away in the final 200m for a comprehensive victory.

Bred by The Sunlight Trust, Princess Jenni is the first foal of the Zabeel mare Glitzabeel. Zabeel broodmares have crossed exceptionally well with the High Chaparral sire line producing Gr.1 winners Dundeel, Hiyaam and Fenway. The High Chaparral-Zabeel cross is performing at an alarming 71% winners to runners and 11% stakes winners to runners.

Contributer, a dual Gr.1 winning son of High Chaparral provides New Zealand breeders with an excellent opportunity to continue breeding to this wonderful sire line. Advertised at $12,500+gst, his first crop of yearlings proved extremely popular at the 2019 Karaka Yearling Sales averaging $87,000 in Book 1.
