YEARN SALUTES IN GR.2 AUCKLAND THOROUGHBREED BREEDERS STAKES

Honest mare Yearn registered her first win at stakes level on Saturday winning the Gr.2 Auckland Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes at Pukekohe Park. The daughter of Savabeel is trained by Karen Fursdon and has been a wonderfully consistent mare chalking up 7 wins and a number of stakes placings. A patient ride by leading jockey Sam Spratt ensured she timed her run to perfection to run down Gr.1 1000 Guineas winner Media Sensation and breakthrough for a well-deserved victory at stakes level. “I am thrilled for everybody involved with the horse, Karen Fursdon has done a wonderful job with this mare, she’s been so consistent and it’s great she finally cracked a group race” said Stud Master Simms Davison

Dam Princess Uno is by the legendary sire Danehill and has a stunning filly by Complacent heading to the NZB Yearling Sale in 2020. “She’s a lovely type of filly and we are looking forward to taking her up to the sales early next year. It’s always a massive plus when your mare produces a Gr.2 winner before the sales” added Simms Davison
