Mr Cancun, a lightly-tried 3year-old son of Atlante notched up his 3rd victory at Geelong Racing Club in only 7 career starts. Trained by Lindsay Smith, he has always looked like a progressive type and with a step up in distance to 1400m he easily accounted for his opposition.

Bought by leading bloodstock agent Phil Cataldo after an impressive trial performance in New Zealand, connections have been patient with him and it’s great to see that they are starting to see the best of him on the racetrack.

Atlante's offspring have been performing extremely well in Australia of late, with 4 winners from 7 starters this season. Atlante has built an impressive record overall and his strike rate of 6.7% stakes winners to runners is certainly catching people’s attention.
