CONTRIBUTER DOUBLE TO START THE SEASON

Contributer (High Chaparral) is off to a flying start siring 2 impressive winners on the first Saturday of the new racing season. Racing on a soft 5 at Ruakaka, the racing season quickly kicked into gear with some impressive winning performances. Silverina broke her maiden status with a dominant performance over 1200m for trainer Shane Crawford. She was supported strongly in the market after a couple of eye-catching runs leading into the race, most recently a close up 2nd at Matamata. In form jockey Michael McNab slotted her into a comfortable position just behind a hot speed and presented the talented mare at the top of the straight where she accelerated smartly for a decisive victory. Follow Your Dreams was back in the winners circle after a convincing 2 length victory in the Rating 75 1600m Harcourts Series at Ruakaka. Local trainers Kenny Rae & Krystal Williams-Tuhoro had him spot on for his assignment which saw him finish strongly to claim a much-deserved win. “Follow Your Dreams was a pretty good juvenile but things didn’t really go right for him during his three-year-old season,” he said. “He was better when he ran third last time and I was keen to step him up to a mile. “There isn’t anything for him in a fortnight and I won’t run him in the mud as he just doesn’t cope so he can keep ticking over as we wait for the races to come and then he can go back to Riccarton in November as well. Following a very promising start to his stud career, Contributer continues to be consistent sire of winners. From only 88 runners to the track, he has sired 56 individual winners at an impressive strike rate of 64% winners to runners.

“Contributer keeps rolling out the winners, his winners to runners strike rate is leading all up and coming sires in New Zealand” said Stud Master Simms Davison “He’s such a versatile stallion, we’ve seen him produce a stakes performed 2 year-old, a classic horse at 3 as well as horses that can train on and perform as older horses”

“He’s got some nice progressive horses coming through the ranks and we are expecting to see some nice performances by some of them in the Spring” “We are looking forward to welcoming his 2022 crop of foals, this will be his biggest crop of foals and his best in terms of quality” Contributer stands at Mapperley Stud in 2022 for a fee of $20,000+gst
